As a player and technician he knows the instrument inside and out. He was able to take our 140-year-old square grand from unplayable to sounding beautiful within a week. Max is the go-to guy for everything from reconditioning to tuning.

Rod Weatherbie, Great George Hotel.

As long as I've been a musician, I've been fascinated by pianos!  Since my early 'teens, before I ever started tuning them, I've been trying to build piano-type instruments — and designing new piano mechanisms.  Within a few short years, I had acquired a few pianos of my own; they were "practice" fixer-uppers, and really wonderful learning experiences.

My study in this craft has been multi-faceted over the last ten years.  As a teenager, I obsessively immersed myself in all the literature I could find about piano history and technology.  Since then, I have worked extensively with my Piano Technician's Guild chapter president, and also studied in international seminars with the PTG. I am currently working towards obtaining my Guild certification, and I am fully equipped to tune, recondition, and service all pianos and to carefully dive into each product with great gumption!

I have tuned regularly for prominent Maritime organizations such as the Confederation Centre of the Arts, Holland College, and numerous theaters and music halls, and can provide references upon request.
